The Pro Spot PR-10 is a revolutionary resistance welder for general collision repair applications. It performs welding functions that duplicate, in appearance and strength, those performed by the original equipment manufacturer.

![]() The PR-10 proves consistently high weld strength in an independent test. The "Displacement" test which indicates how long the welds are holding pressure while being pulled apart, was extremely high for the PR-10, only 3% less than factory welds (OEM). It proves that the PR-10 welds remain strong during impact in a collision. This data is based on the independent testing of the I-Car Technical Center in Appleton, Wisconsin. The weld tests themselves, were performed by Tech-Cor of Wheeling, Illinois in April of 1995. Galvanized steel 20 gauge (1 mm) and 14 gauge (2 mm) was used, largest combined thickness was 4 mm. ![]() Welds were subjected to hydraulic shear testing. Two steel sheets were spot welded together using the PR-10. Each end was then clamped in a hydraulic press. The two panels were torn apart when extreme pressure was applied. Notice the sheet metal was torn around the weld nugget, leaving the weld intact. The test was also performed with a combination of 8 mm steel bolts and spot welds on the same piece. Again, the welds remained intact, but the bolts were sheared in half. |
